Submitting A Design Request
Did you know that the better the quality of your design brief, the better your designer's work will be? It takes some effort, but it's worth it!
Follow the steps below to get the best outcome from your request submissions. The topics we'll cover are listed below:
1. Create A New Request
To get started, click the Create button in the page header, visible wherever you are in the Design Pickle Platform.
2. Select Your Request Type
The next step is identifying your Request Type. This is an important step that lets us match your request to the designer with the most suitable skill set to handle it.
Option 1:
You can visually search through our predefined request types to find exactly what you're looking to create or...
Option 2:
...type in what you need and select a general category if there isn't an exact match.
Option 3:
If you make a mistake, you can always change your selected request type in the following step.
3. Describe What You Want
This is an essential step in creating your design request.
Fill out all the sections of the request form, including the title of your request, size(s), file format(s), and brand profile. Once that's done, it's time to describe the details of your design request.
File Types and Source Files
Your request will include the standard file types available for the deliverable. If you need a source file, select the source file checkbox.
If you don't select a specific source file, the Production team will use their discretion to determine the most appropriate source file for your request, when applicable.
Directions
This section is where you will give your designer all the information and details of your request.
Once you've typed your instructions, click the arrow icon to add them to your request.
⚠️ Important: When everything's ready, click the Send to my designer button to submit your request to the request queue and to your design team.
💡 Pro Tip:
Let us know exactly what you want to be created. The clearer the description, the better.
Provide images/references so you can show us what you mean.
Tell your designer what you love and dislike by commenting directly on your attached images using our annotation tool.
4. Prepare Your Copy
When it comes to your copy/text, make sure it has been proofread and is ready for print. Your designer will cut and paste your copy into your design without making any edits or proofreading your provided copy.
Click on the 'exact copy' button to add your exact text to your instructions.
5. Stock Assets
Design Pickle customers can access our vast Stock Image library of stock vectors and photography, powered by Adobe, Unsplash, Pexels, and FreshStock.
Would you rather have your designer find assets for you?
No problem! Just tell your designer what you are looking for in the provided field. Your designer will then search for our libraries for you.
Don't need any photos, or would you prefer to upload your own?
That's fine too! You can upload your own assets into your request.
Once you're all done, review your request and make sure you've included everything you need. Then click Send to My Designer!
6. Revision Feedback
Once your designer has sent you a draft or delivered the design files, send honest, actionable feedback so they know what to do next. Examples of what you can include in your feedback are:
What did we do right?
What can we improve on?
What should we change/retain in the next revision? (The more specific, the better! For example, instead of saying "I don't like that color", instruct your designer by saying “Please swap black for white in the headline”.)
7. Customize Your Request View/Layout
Customize your request's workspace by resizing, collapsing, and expanding sections to adjust your request view or layout, so you can see what matters most.
Collapse and Expand Panels
Hide Panels: Click the icons for the Assets (Media) or Directions (Instructions) panels to collapse them.
Show Panels: Need them back? Just click the icons again to reopen.
Resize Panels
Drag the edges of a panel to adjust its size.
Expand the sections you use the most to make them easier to view and work with.
Remove Distractions
Hide unwanted panels by clicking the X button.
These adjustable panels are designed to give you the flexibility and control you need to keep what you need front and center.
