Did you know that the more precise and detailed your request, the better the work from your designer will be? It takes some effort, but it's worth it!
Here are some tips to help you write a great request:
1. Using the Design Pickle Platform
First off, using The Design Pickle Platform is the most effective way to communicate what you need to your designer.
Based on the title you entered, our in-platform AI will suggest a “Design Type” with preset dimensions, helping you determine some of the design request details with ease.
2. Describe what you want
This is a very important step in the process of creating your design request.
Fill out all the sections of the request form, including the output dimension/size, file format, and brand profile. Once that's done, it's time to describe the 'meat' of your design request.
The 'Description' section is where you will give your designer all the information and details of your request.
Let us know exactly what you want to be created. The more clearly written information, the better. You want your designer to have a very clear picture of what your vision is.
Provide pictures so you can 'show' us what you mean! Give design examples by uploading them to your request, or providing links.
Tell your designer what you love AND what you hate.
If your request is vague or missing crucial details, your designer may get confused or will lean into guessing your design preference. This can lead to you and your designer not seeing eye to eye with the design output.
3. Prepare your Copy
When it comes to your copy/text, make sure it has been proofread and ready-for-print! Your designer will cut and paste your copy into your design, and will not make any edits or proofread your provided copy.
Protip: You may provide your copy as a Google Doc or PDF file too. Just make sure it's copy/paste-ready!
4. Stock Assets
Next up, stock assets. Design Pickle clients can access our vast Premium Stock library of stock vectors and photography powered by FreshStock, Unsplash, Pixabay, and Adobe Stock.
Rather have your designer find assets for you? That's not a problem either. Just tell your designer what you are looking for in the provided field. Your designer will then search for our libraries for you.
Don't need any photos, or would rather upload your own?
That's fine too! Just select "I don't need photos or I'll upload my own".
Once you’re all done, review your request and tell your designer what file types you need, then click on Send to My Designer!
5. Feedback For Revision
Send honest and helpful feedback:
What did we do right?
What can we improve on?
You can drop feedback under your completed designs when you hit “request revision”!
