Ready to link your custom domain with Design Pickle’s Share & Review tool? We’ve got you covered. Below, we’ll guide you through updating your DNS settings by adding a CNAME record, ensuring your domain connects smoothly to our platform.

If you have any questions or need a hand, feel free to reach out to our support team. You may also share this page with your IT team and include the DNS settings from the White Label page in the Design Pickle Platform.

Onto the guide; follow these steps closely!

  1. Log in to Your Domain or DNS management Account

    • This could be Cloudflare, GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains, or another provider.

  2. Access Your DNS Settings

    • Once logged in, locate the section where you can manage your domain’s DNS records. This is usually labeled as "Domain Management", "DNS Management", or something similar.

    • Click on your domain name to access its settings.

  3. Find the DNS Records Section

    • Look for a section labeled "DNS Settings", "DNS Records", "Zone File Settings" or something similar.

    • This is where you will add or edit your domain's custom DNS records.

  4. Add a New CNAME Record

    • In the DNS Records section, find the option to add a new record. This is often a button labeled "Add Record" or "Create New Record."

    • Select "CNAME" as the type of record you want to add.

  5. Enter the CNAME Record Details

    • Name/Host/Alias: Enter the domain or subdomain you want to use. This should match exactly with what you have entered on the White Label page.

      • If you want to use www.yourdomain.com, enter only "www".

      • If you want to use a subdomain, for example subdomain.yourdomain.com, you would simply enter "subdomain".

      • If you’re pointing the root domain only (i.e., yourdomain.com), some registrars use "@" as a placeholder or you can leave this blank. Check the specific rules for your registrar.

    • Value/Points to: Enter the destination provided by our platform. This is typically something like lpj19avr6uy5379ehjyctb29.herokudns.com.

    • TTL (Time to Live): Set this to the lowest possible setting (usually 600) or leave it as the default value. Note: The lower this number the faster your domain will connect to our platform.

  6. Save Your Changes

    • After entering the CNAME details, make sure to save your changes.

  7. Verify the Changes

    • DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate, although they often happen much faster especially if you have set your TTL to 600. You can use online tools like DNS Checker to monitor the propagation status.

    • Once the changes have propagated, your domain should point to our platform correctly. This will be shown with a ‘Connected’ message next to your domain.

  1. Keep a Backup: Before making changes, it's a good idea to take a screenshot or note down the existing DNS settings, just in case you need to revert.

  2. Contact Support: If you run into any issues or need specific guidance for your domain registrar, please contact our support team or check the support documentation provided by your domain registrar.
